I have read the manual, searched the forums, downloaded the logic template, watched the video on setting up the environment, but I still can’t get ezplayer to drive my drum sampler (S2).
Should I even have to mess with the environment if I am not recording midi while using EZplayer? I only really need to go in there if I want to play Ezplay while I am recording midi, right?
It seems according to the docs, that I should be able to create two tracks, assign one to Ezplayer, one to Drummer Superior, and if the S2 track is selected, then Ezplayer should play it. That is not happening. I downloaded the template suggested in another thread and that doesn’t work. I followed the movie suggested in another thread step by step and set up the environment myself, and still nothing.
I am so frustrated right now. Can someone give me a few more tips … it seems like I’m making this overly complicated. Did I forget to hit the big red EASY button?
Using Logic 8 btw.
Hi,
attached is a short clip of the simple setup.
Does it work for you?

No! That is exactly how I thought it should work, and when I do exactly that, I get nothing. I can go into S2 and play from the Groove Browser in there just fine. Individual hits in the Construction window work. I can trigger from my keyboard. But EZP doesn’t trigger the channel, even when I have it selected.
By messing with the environment, I managed to jury rig a connection and get the browser of EZP to play the S2 track. But the editing section doesn’t play. Kinda defeats the purpose, huh? Besides that, the way it’s set up, I can’t get any other midi channels to trigger from my keyboard with this environment configuration.
BTW, EZP and S2 work flawlessly in Toontrack solo too.
I know little quirks with individual systems can happen, but I feel like my system is pretty standard and I don’t have many “character” issues. (I’m an IT guy, fwiw)
Thanks for your help so far, John!
What version numbers are displayed in the S2 and EZPP interfaces?

Hi,
I can’t manage to reproduce your problem here, whether using the EZplayer Browser or Arranger.
Are you sure you are selecting and putting the Superior 2 Track in Rec Input mode when playing back from EZplayer Pro?
I quickly modified an old Superior+EZplayer logic file where EZplayer is wired to Superior in Click & Ports.
Does the attached logic file work for you?

John
