what i said…. i know how to use the hyper editor, but where can i find the info regarding which values control what level of hihat openness (or close-ness, for that matter)? when i play with the hyper values, the hats just seem to be randomly chicking away, tho i know there must be some rationale behind it i’m missing.
is there a midi white paper that covers this anywhere?
You control hihat openness with the CC assigned to HatsCtrl, so CC01 and CC04 by default (but user definable).
From there it’s quite simple, 0 corresponds to fully open and 127 corresponds to closed (tight actually if it exists in the kit, 125 will definitely give you Closed rather than Tight if that’s what you’re after).
Does this help?

do i need assing both cc1 and cc4 to make a foot controller work?
i have a alesis control pad and use FLS as my primary DAW. EZ work fin in all ways exept i havn’t been able to figure out how to get the closed open hihat using same pad on my controlpad.
in toontrack solo everything works just fine when i set the controller mode to D-rums. so i guess it should be possible to mimic this somehow using the MIDI-Out in FL?
i tried cc4 wich make the footcontroller work good, getting the ‘closing sound’ pressing down and the ‘open-up’ on release but still leaves the pad sounding close no matter what. so should i then parrallel make it controll cc01 too?
guess i have to get home and try tomorrow…
