I have the same / similar problem. It’s getting really annoying.

    Example:

I drag a few grooves down to the grid at the bottom, maybe edit a few notes, not a problem.
I make sure that no notes are gliding or overlapping into the previous or the next block, then copy that block (not splitting it or anything) and put it before the first block I have in the grid.
I try to move any note in that block and it crashes immediately.
Sometimes I can however copy the block and put it after the last block in grid, edit the notes there, and then move it to where I want it.
And sometimes it just crashes randomly during playback of the song when I’m working on something else.

Could you send a screen recording of how you do this, please (using QuickTime Player for example)?

    Sure!

But since I solved the problem by editing the blocks elsewhere in the grid on this track and the previous track I was working on, I’ll have to keep working on this project until it happens again and then I’ll record it!

Maybe I’ll notice a pattern. I’ll get back to you later.

I think I figured it out now, and you probably know this already.

It’s seems to be happening for two reasons:
There’s a slide between two notes from neighbouring blocks and I try to copy one of these blocks.
Or the first note in the block right next to the one I want to copy is not sitting perfectly on the grid and is overlapping just a tiny amount into the block I want to copy.
(I missed this one because I didn’t see it)

Copying works fine, but if I try to edit any note in the copied block it crashes immediately.
If I do nothing it might crash during playback of that section.

Blocks are supposed to get automatically merged when notes overlap so I’m not sure how that (your second case) can happen. Could you upload an EZbass project (a zipped .ezbp file) that contains what your second image shows?

    Aah, I see.
    My bad. Sorry!

I’ve been using the word “block” wrong I think.
When I’m moving blocks around I instinctevly grab the top block; the blue one called “verse” in the image.
I didn’t realize that the bottom block with the midi information merges and becomes one block.

For some reason I can’t replicate my second case now. The midi block at the bottom must have been merged somewhere else or something.

Maybe that’s why it crashes for some people and not others. That we use different methods of moving all the different blocks around.

I think I should spend more time with the plugin before I post any more comments on this issue.

Thanks for your support so far!

No worries, both are kind of blocks. Song parts (or song part blocks) and MIDI blocks.

Version 1.0.8 has just been released. It should hopefully fix most of these issues.

Now I can replicate the problem again!

I updated to 1.0.8 but I still have the same issue.

I’ve attached the ezbp-file and an image. If I touch the highlighted note in the image it’ll crash.

And like I’ve said before, I’ve probably copied a “song part block” from within the merged midi block (splitting the midi) and forgot to remove the slide before copy. I noticed that the note had the slide attribute on it after copy.

Thanks! With that project and info we can reproduce it and fix it. I don’t know how far off the next update is so you’ll just have to watch out for slides when you copy song parts for now.
