Hi, I’ve got a pretty kickin’ computer and I’ve notices that it takes a few minutes (not including additional choices) to load the sample. I’m launching this in REAPER. Is this just the way it is…….or is there a certain way to set EZDrummer up for quicker set-up? I have 4 separate drives….all 7200 rpm . I set EZD up on my “software drive” ….which is not the same drive as the OS….and just found it vis the REAPER vst search.
Any thoughts?
Scott
I will assume you are using a sample rate other than 44.1kHz. Please fill in your system specs on your Member Profile page.
From the FAQ:
EZdrummer was designed to operate best at 44.1K. It can of course be used at any sample rate but the engine will have to recalculate the samples to compensate for the resulting shift in pitch.
In order to guarantee no loss of quality the above procedure requires non trivial computation and loading time will rise significantly, by up to a factor 3 to 6, depending on computer resources available.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the info. I changed the sample rate as suggested and I did notice an increase in loading speed:) Another question EZdrummer(toontracks) doesn’t offer a step sequencer for their drums? Because that sure would make this software complete.

Such function is already available in the host (Reaper, Cubase, Pro Tools, et al) and is far more functional that any ‘built in’ sequencer Toontrack would include.

But with Toontracks Pro you could do what you need to do. In fact for some things it’s much better than a step sequencer.
