Hello there. I’m having a hard time getting SD3 to sound the way I’d like when I play on my TD-07. My main issue is the snare as the ghost notes are much louder than I’d like them to be. The volume level is at about 25-30 for ghost notes when they should probably be around 8-12, I think. SD3 also doesn’t seem to have a direct kit match-up for mine, so I just picked the TD-17 and did some manual adjustments. I’m also unsure about the latency. It seems to be a bit later than I’d like. Does anyone know the proper latency time and how I should go about setting this? Thank you to anyone with advice.
I figured out the latency issue by lowering the sample rate. However, I’m still a bit unsatisfied with the ghost note volume I get. Even when I stroke them as quietly as possible they seem to be much louder than they should be.

Have you tried recording MIDI to see what velocity your snare drum is sending for ghost notes?
You may need to adjust the velocity curve for the particular trigger/drum.
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
SD3 will respond to the midi velocity you send it. If you have the sensitivity on your module too high then that will do it. As above record the notes and see what value they are. If you mean the 25/30 is the velocity then it’s what you are sending.
Another big thing is what kit are you triggering? If it’s a preset it may have lots of effects and compression so the ghost notes will be louder. Try one of the unprocessed kits and check there are no effects.
The drum type presets on the edrum page are a starting point. I have a td30 and did a lot of changes especially with expanding the kit. The presets get you going. The rest is down to you.
As you found out you have to lower the buffers to get better latency. You are also better off using a decent low latency audio interface if you are using the module or computer audio as the audio interface.

Sample rate and latency really have nothing to do with each other.

Most buffer sizes are measured in samples but not sample rate which is a different thing.
