I’ve been a sd2 user for about 4 years and i lost my cds a LONG time ago. My computer Macbook Pro crash so i replaced it with a mac mini that doesn’t even have a disk drive. I’m currently working with a band thats been quite set back by this so any help would be appreciated. My issue is that even though my products are registered, I am still limited as to toms, snares, kicks, ect. and frankly we feel held back to say the least. I am just assuming this is the content i’m missing thats on disks. Is there anyway for me to get past this without another computer?
I just bought metal foudry so i suspect ill have the same issue seeing as all have the disk but no disk drive on the mac mini. and i cant really afford to replace the ones for sd2
Hi,
currently, the only way is to install the SDX Libraries from a DVD drive.
However, there are a few options on how to achieve this.
1) Buy (from about $35-$50) or borrow an external DVD and connect it to your Mac mini.
2) If you have an older Mac nearby that has an optical drive, it can be shared over a network.
3) If you can use any other computer, PC or Mac, with an optical drive and you have an external hard drive, you can choose to install only the libraries to this external hard drive. No need to install the Plugin(s) to that computer and also no need to Authorize it. Once you have the SDX Libraries on your external hard drive, you can then either just run them from this drive or copy the Libraries intact to your internal drive on your Mac mini.
Hope this helps.
