I’m using Latin Cuban percussion EZX and I’m trying to layer different percussion instruments to make one groove. For example I start with some tambourine grooves and drag the song block down to track one. Then I want to add for example some congas to go along with tambourine. My instinct is to create track 2 by clicking on the plus sign and dragging the Congo grooves down to that track. The problem is when I playback I can only hear the percussion groove of the displayed track (i.e. the active track tab). There doesn’t seem to be away to playback multiple tracks at the same time. Is there a way I can mix and match different percussion grooves on different song block tracks and hear then playing back simultaneously? I made a short video which which hopefully will explain the problem. You will notice I can only hear the sound of the active track. It won’t let me upload an MP4 file so I’ve added an unlisted link from YouTube.
Thanks Martin

The tracks serve as alternative arrangements, thus only the active one plays. You need to paste the parts of the one groove on to the other in order to layer them.

Thanked by: Martin Burrow and Scott EshlemanOK I found it. You need to use the command on the block tab “paste on selected groove”. I was trying standard copy and paste commands which didn’t work.
Thanks,
Martin

So I’ve run into another problem. I’m using Superior Drummer 3 in my DAW – Sequoia 17 although the same thing happens in Nuendo 12 and SD3 stand-alone. I have a tambourine midi part playing back in SD3 and synchronising to the tempo in my DAW. So now I want to audition some other percussion parts for example cowbell. The problem is as soon as I audition the cowbell midi part the playback of the tambourine stops so I can’t hear the tambourine and the congas in context with the song. I made a video.
