Hi,
I’m considering buying either the Latin Percussion or the Latin Cuban Percussion expansion pack, but I’d like to know how my midi device (Boss RC-600) is going to behave with it. For the ordinary drums I have to use a convertor to General Midi, since EZDrummer uses its own midi standard.
So my request is: can someone please create a small midi file with several percussion instruments (specially conga) and post it somewhere so I can try it first?
I’d like to make sure it works before I make the investment, since Toontrack doesn’t provide a trial (at least for extensions).
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Luiz.
Why do you need a converter? Create a drum map in EZ Drummer 3 to map to your RC-600 if the device doesn’t have mapping capabilities. Then you should have no issues using the percussion packs. I use the Latin Cuban Percussion EZX with Logic Pro 11 Session Players with a percussion map in EZ Drummer with no issue.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanThis is not what I want – I don’t want to physically play on my device and have EZDrummer to reproduce the sound, I want the device to reproduce the MIDI that EZDrummer generates. EZDrummer doesn’t change the way the midi is generated.
I only need a sample midi file.
Considering the RC-600 is just a looper. If it outputs a MIDI there shouldn’t be a problem. Here’s the MIDI map for Latin Cuban Percussion using EZ Drummer’s standard mapping. Play the corresponding notes on a keyboard (or DAW) and if the RC-600 picks it up and plays it, you’re good.

I’m sorry, but I know what I’m asking and it seems you are not familiar with how the device I’m talking about. I’m not asking a PDF with the mapping, I’m asking a MIDI file generated by Latin (Cuban) Percussion. Please don’t deviate the discussion.

Go into the Grooves tab and click ‘Web Shop’ or something like that. Once EZD has loaded the shop, you can call up all grooves in every drum pack. Choose the Latin packs and listen to the grooves.
