    That all depends if you are comparing the EZX to an unprocessed hi-hat. Big difference.

    Hello Bear- Faced Cow,
    I wasn’t interested in the sound itself, it was more about the great fluid transitions, especially the hi-hat, like the SDX Allaire, where the hi-hat transitions, from closed to open, are very fluid. It varies from expansion to expansion. I have almost all the SDXs and the hi-hat’s respond very differently. The drumming process is different from the naked drums without compressor reverb and EQ, of course. I was mainly interested in the nice smooth transitions in the hi-hat.

    I would imagine they would vary between SDXs due to the both genre and how they were recorded (and even played for that matter). SD3 core library is more of a “one size fits all” and may need tweaking to suit your tastes.
