Hello Everyone,
A little frustrated…. I’m fairly new to EZ drummer 3 . I am using a Steinberg UR22 mkII interface, a MacBook Air , and my old M1 Korg keyboard as my midi controller. Compared to most of you, I’m probably doing very basic stuff with minimal tracks.
Anyway, my issue is: Once I tool around enough and click on enough things in my EZ drummer 3 program, I can sometimes achieve the situation I’m looking for which is, “triggering drums with my M1 keyboard”. Problem is…. randomly I will lose the midi control or connection between my M1 and EZD 3. Or next time I open the program, I have to start fooling with settings again until I accidentally stumble on the right settings to have my M1 triggering drums again. Is there some setting that I’m not aware of that will keep this set up engaged? Is there some area I can check that would cause me to keep losing this connection?
If it helps to know…. the same thing happens when using EZ Bass. Thanks to anyone who can provide a little insight.

Hi,
first things to check are cables and if there are updated drivers for your interface.

Thanked by: Gordon BradberryThanks John….
I’ve done that and still nothing.

Next thing to check would be using a different MIDI controller with the same MIDI interface but that would not solve anything connected with lost settings.
Do you have a screen shot of your Audio/MIDI setup in EZdrummner 3 or EZbass?

I’m more curious about this paragraph:

Can you be more specific about what you are doing?

I assume you’re using the Steinberg UR22 mkII as both audio and MIDI interfaces. Could the disconnect happen when/if you power it off?
Have you checked the Mac app; Audio MIDI Setup > MIDI Studio when it’s disconnected in EZD3 to see if it’s offline to the Mac?
The setting you’re “tooling” around for is; Settings > Audio/MIDI Setup > Active MIDI Input.
It may be worth while to try a MIDI to USB cable instead.
