[NOTE: I submitted this post, two months ago, but received no replies. Today when I came back — the post had been deleted. Surely that was an error. Right, Toontrack? You wouldn’t delete a forum post, simply because it mentions a problem with an EZX. That’s what the forum is for. For discussion of issues… Right?]
Previous post:
I just discovered that a number of the grooves in the Jazz EZX are mislabled/miscategorized. They’re playing at *double* the advertised tempo.
For example: EZX Jazz > Per Mikaelsson > Song 01 77 BPM > Swirls
Although these are labeled as 77 BPM, they are in fact *twice* that: 154 BPM, *not* 77 BPM. So, although EZD2 is following my host’s tempo, these grooves are playing at twice the correct speed (i.e., there are 4 backbeats per bar, instead of 2). Wow. How did this go unnoticed when the EZX was produced? And how has this not been corrected before now? All of these jazz grooves need to be reevaluated and corrected.
In the meantime, this would be easy enough to work around if I could find a half-time/double-time button in the groove browser. But as far as I can tell, there’s none. So, with dozens of grooves from which to choose, the only way to hear them at the correct tempo is to either (a) place them in the Song Creater or (b) drag them into the sequence, then scale them to the correct tempo.
UPDATE: Actually, for the “swirl” grooves, the above doesn’t work. When you re-scale the grooves so they play at half the speed, that “breaks” the swirls, so the individual strokes have spaces between them, instead of playing simultaneously.
Yes, this data can be manipulated to do what I need, but the problem is that I’m still *auditioning* grooves; I’m still selecting the ones I want to use. But now I’ll have to jump through all of these hoops just to evaluate each option and determine which ones I like.
Toontrack, you make great products, but this is a serious, serious error. As far as I can tell, you don’t have *any* brush grooves that play properly at slower tempi (60s-90s). All of the grooves that are labeled in that range are actually *twice* as fast as labeled.

What plans do you have to correct this problem?
Hi,
just dropping you a note here to let you know that it’s being looked in to.
Regarding your previous post, I don’t think it has been maliciously removed. When I check your user logs, I can see the post but when I click on it, it “doesn’t exist”.
I suspect that the fact that you used three punctuations in conjunction with a parenthesis in the Topic name, caused the Permalink to be invalid. I’ll check this with the web master.

I understand. Thanks again.
Hello. Any update on this? It remains very frustrating to use this EZX’s MIDI files with incorrect BPM values embedded. :-/
Hi,
I am checking it up and getting back as soon as I know anything.

Thank you.
Respectfully, I reported this issue 6 *months* ago. Just wondering how long it takes to make the corrections.
