Did you import your MIDI tempo changes into the tempo map within SD3?

Yes, I ended up creating a midi track with just a couple of random notes on it that I exported from the pro tools session as a tempo map.  It turned out the tempo change was in there but for whatever reason the drums were like a tiny bit out of sync after the change.  The tempo change happens in like an 8 measure section where there are no drums and then the drums come back in at the new faster tempo, so I just separated the drum audio files in the middle where there was no drums playing and nudged the back half a little bit and got them to sync up.  Now it sounds fine, I’m wondering if maybe there was like a measure or two difference between where the change happens in the pro tools session and where it was happening in the midi tempo map.  Like I drag back the start of my sessions to -1 measures so I can have a two bar count off so I wonder if the tempo change was just happening two bars off and that threw off the drums by a split second for the rest of the file.

    Hi,

do NOT have ‘Follow Host’ Enabled in the SD3 plug-in during an internal Bounce on a track with Tempo changes. When you have the ‘Follow Host’ Enabled, the SD3 plug-in locks to the Tempo at the play cursor, so Tempo changes will not be reflected on the bounced audio.

During playback and if you use the Pro Tools Bounce/Commit function, you should have ‘Follow Host’ Enabled.

    BR,
    John

I’m experiencing the same issue, my tracks don’t follow the tempo change within SD3.  Even with the “Follow Host” disabled, the tempo doesn’t change. Not sure what else I could be doing wrong.

What they don’t say is that if you want to have your tempo change perfectly aligned with your session, you have to rewrite the tempo change within the Superior 3 track window manually. AND when bouncing having “follow host” disable.

    That’s how I did it.

As William said, you just have to first manually re-enter the tempo and time signature map inside the SD , then you must deselect follow host and then bounce.

You can also freeze the tracks in Pro Tools. you can also “print” the individual tracks in pro tools. Both of these methods create identical files and are completely locked to the tempo changes. you can test the quality by doing a bounced track from SD3 and the printing a track within pro tools. Then do a null test, they are the same.

I never bounce within SD3. Its just never is as perfect as printing the tracks, individual or otherwise. When you do all the needed maneuvers to use SD3 bounce tempo correctly, its takes longer than just printing the tracks in pro tools ( unless its a really long session)
