I’ve managed to add a second kick drum as a secondary kick (left foot) to the stock kit, but it sounds like absolute ass and doesn’t appear to show up like the other kick in the mixer i.e. no bleed. Weird because I added the exact same one that I have selected in the normal kit: 18×26″ Pearl Masterworks. Any ideas?
Ok so looks like Superior Drummer just isn’t designed to do that outside of getting another kit like Metal Foundry et al.
I’m tempted to say this is just gross business tactics, but I have a feeling that adding a second kick the way I want to the standard kit is just technically infeasible given how it was recorded in the first instance.
Even so, maybe at that as standard for future versions? Looks like a popular request.
Someone please tell me this isn’t just money grubbing nonsense…
Hi,
please zip the Project and attach to a post here so we may have a look at what isn’t set up correctly.

Hey John!
Gladly 🙂 thanks in advance.
Hi. Â I have done this successfully (although using a different kick for the second). Â You will want to manually tweak the addl kick mixer setup to match the effects and bleed of the stock kick. Â I notice in your mixer screenshot that the X-kick channels have no effects or bleed so you will need to configure that or it will sound completely disconnected from the rest of the kit (likely what you are referring to). Â This is just “the way” when you add instruments to a kit in SD3. Â Maybe there is a way to copy/paste settings, not sure. Â I just do it all manually.
