The Serial Number provided seems to still be registered to his account even though he upgraded to SD2 – If he requests the serial number be passed to me, will he still have access to SD2? or is it either him or me?

In the meantime, could you please confirm with me if what he did was wrong or not? since both Ez drummer and SD were paid for in full, I couldn’t see it being an issue – please let me know if that’s not true

I’m not sure, Toontrack Support will know for sure, but I think that both EZdrummer and the S2 crossgrade licenses need to be in the same account if someone then purchases the EZD – S2 crossgrade. I’m not sure the 2 products ( EZdrummer and S2 Crossgrade licenses) can be split up. Like I said, I’m not sure.
