Is this possible? Using a snare from another kit?

My main drum kit I use is from Metal Machinery however I love the snare from SD3 Metal Snap Stacks. Is it possible to swap in that snare to metal machinery kit while keeping the original sound from when I use the SD3 kit?  Basically want to keep all the hits from Machinery sounds intact while using just the SD3 snare sound instead of the Machinery snare. You should be able to save the snare stack as a user instrument and load it in the the preset you want to use.
