    Hi,

IIRC it depends on if it is mono or stereo channels but I think I have added about 95 channels (stereo channels counted as 2) before maxing out. This is excluding the 32 buses and the output channels.

Is there a direct way to add mixer channels or is that only possible when adding an instrument?

Right-click an Instrument, go to More > Route Instrument Microphones…

The Instrument you right-clicked will be the currently selected one but you can select any Instrument in the top-left drop-down, I .e. you do not need to close this window if you wish to add/route microphones for more than one Instrument.

So, if I e.g. want a new Close Mic for my Ride(s), I click the ‘Close’ Microphone drop-down and select ‘Create New Channel’. In this case, it will be auto-named ‘X-OH’. If I have another Ride that I treat the same, it will be named ‘X-OH1’, etc. BTW, creating new channels is not restricted to ‘Close’ mics.

When done, I close the Routing window and go to the Mixer to double-click the names to give them some better names.

Thanks. Would be great if this could be done from within the mixer as that’s where I’d go to add channels to a mixer – just like in a daw.

    Hi John,

I did a bit of a test and it seems that the number of additional channels before maxing out does vary depending on SDX or EZX. In the case of Alchemy EZX it runs out at the original 35 Mics plus a max of 33 additional user channels and this is less than any other library I have used. Is there any reason for this or is it just the way that a library is set up. Also I presume there is nothing that can be done about this other than combining some of the outputs into a channel ? thanks, Andrew
