You know that tab in the EZ Drummer mixer that lets you simply change the room ambience? SD3 seems to make it such a chore to do, and even then I often can’t get what I’m after. If there isn’t, it would be a great feature in SD4. I know you can load certain SD3 kits into EZ, but not all of them.
I haven’t used EZ drummer so I’m not sure how they are recorded but in SD3 you have a number of room mics that you can use. The different expansion sdx’s is where you’ll have different room flavours depending where they were recorded
I have EZD3. what ambience tab are you talking about? The only real reference to ambience is the mixer faders as well as the bleed control.
SD3 offers far more control than EZD3. Perhaps, it would be more beneficial to learn some basic drum mixing and how the ambience channels in SD3 work.
Or perhaps, state what you are trying to do. Not getting the results you want is more on you than the software.

I actually am a pretty experienced recording engineer. I just find that the mixer layout in SD3 doesn’t really correspond to what you’d find in an old school analog studio. Or an old school Pro Tools multitrack session, at any rate. The accompanying screenshot depicts what I have access to in EZ, and I wonder if there’s anything in any SD3 kit that is similar.
Hi Panufo,
that’s just presets with different levels of the faders in the mixer. You have far more control in SD3 if you want but in short the different room mics go up or down along with a compressed room mic faders. Mimic that and save as a preset. If you open an EZX in SD3 and load a preset, you can also load the Mixer part preset. See my screen shot.
BTW, you cannot load SD3 kits in EZdrummer 1/2/3 but the other way around works.
