I hope support figures this out for you. I’m out of questions for you unless I get new info from you.

You can edit midi in EZD2 easily but in a limited way. Editing midi in a DAW is usually more advanced with few or no limitations.

Hey Shootie and all who might care. Apparently I am able to play a beat(on my Alesis Nitro kit) in the Tap to Find which does get saved at least temporarliy in the window just under the Tap to Find  button in the search tab. I can then save it to my User Midi section and I guess from there all is possible. I  am still not able to record “from my kit” directly to the Song Track window(at least not more than a few notes here and there) but I may not need to.

This is unfortunate. This has nothing to do with your issue, but just something I always check. Make sure you head unit isn’t broadcasting on Midi Channel 10. Also I assume you’re running EZD2 64bit on a Win10 64bit. Try Run As Admin… totally shooting from the hip at this point.

If you end up becoming dependent on Tap2Find in this situation and you’re not that familiar with it. It has no limitations compared to the songtrack except a 2 measure limit. It will quantize in real-time (which is an added bonus) or not at all. When you select Show Results and you see your new beat in the Midi Drop-Zone (the name of that window), you can do anything with that beat such as drag it right to your song track. Right-Click and copy, and paste all or only elements…  At that point as you said, save to User Midi. Tap2Find is also handy for just recording a portion or single instrument of a beat, that you will use to add to a beat you’re already have going in the song track and so on. Also, feel free to drag the beat you recorded back to the Midi Drop Zone and continue working on it in the future. Tap2Find is a cool tool.

I’m not sure which uninstall process you took. But I might ask Toontrack how to eliminate everything toontrack related from my PC, and give reinstalling one more try if you’re determined.

Sorry to hear of your results. Do post back if you get any different results.

I  was  on channel 10 because that’s what the Alesis manual said but I’ll put it back to default for now. Also how do I run as Admin  ??

I found run as  Admin.( no help) As far as contacting Toontrack they are very slow to repond if at all w/ emails.

Ch 10 is typically the standard unless you start running multiple midi setups at a time.

I’ve seen, especially lately, people uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times before clearing up their unrelated problem. This is why I would still conciser it.

    Good luck, Mojo.
