Is always-on Internet required?

I’ve read through some old posts (2010!) and the question of whether or not an internet connection is required to use EZD was asked. The answer was “if the NIC was enabled during install, yes. If you want it to be a stand-alone no internet system, you have to disable the NIC during install” kind of thing.

Is this still true? I want to get EZ Drummer 2, however I do not want an app with always-on internet tracking me and my projects. It will send info and reports back home on usage and projects, etc.

Can EZD2 be used without internet? If so, are there special steps to installation and activation?

Yes it can be used without the internet. I use it without an internet connection. I do connect it when using the Toontrack Product Manager to download and install and authorize. Then it’s offline the rest of the time.
