Hi –
I’ve started having this problem and am not sure where to start. I’m hoping one of you wizards can help a poor boy out or at least point me in the right direction…
I can set up a track okay, choosing drum parts and dragging them into Sonar. This last Sunday I created a new demo song, probably played it 50 times while working on things, etc. I just had one 8 measure (or perhaps longer, it’s an intro clip from the new Song Writer pack) that I’d set as a Sonar Groove Clip and extended it out for about 4 minutes.
I had no problems working that day and shut off my system when done. The following day I opened up the same project and I get “dropout” in the drum track. It seems random too. I can play the song and after perhaps 3 or 4 measures it’ll just leave out a couple of kicks and snares then it starts playing okay, then it’ll drop out some of the hits later on. It does this throughout the song. If I start the song from a different point it leaves out different midi notes at different times, and even starting from the same point it will drop out different notes each time.
The notes are still in the midi file. I can open the midi file in the Sonar midi viewer after some notes were skipped and see the ones that were skipped, select to play just that measure, and the notes will play.
In one other song that this happened to I inserted a new MIDI track w/ EZD and copied the midi files into it and it worked a time or two then also had the same problem. On that song I was just using the stereo out from EZD, but on this new tune I am using the individual outs. I tried inserting a new MIDI track, copying the midi files over, and setting it up to point to the existing instance of EZD (in the synth rack) but it didn’t make any difference.
I’ve tried both repairing and re-installing the EZD DLL and I’ve verified Sonar points to it. I’m using the 64 bit version of EZD.
Thanks for any help!
