Hi. Just wondered if my question could be answered- I’m really interested in the Jazz EZ expansion to create some quick and easy ‘basic’ Jazz drum backings. I recently stumbled on an informative online review/demo of the software when it was first released. It sounded amazing.
I was/am a little concerned though that they suggested that the MIDI with the pack did’nt contain any Bossa/Latin grooves and could have done with more standard brush style grooves that could lend themselves to slower swing tempos and fills. I appreciate I could programme the MIDI myself but I was hopeful to use pre-programmed grooves from real drummers created specifically for the software.
I bought the Latin EZ pack some time ago and was able to download more and various MIDI after purchase.
Is this review just an opinion?
Have there been further MIDI grooves added to this Jazz pack?
Thank you for any replies.
Regards
I can’t answer your question directly. Someone else no doubt will.
Bear in mind, jazz grooves and midi is a bit of an oxymoron.
But are you aware of this product?:

No, there are no Bossa/Latin grooves in the MIDI from the Jazz EZX.
I can also recommend Platinum Samples Real Jazz MIDI pack. Currently they are GM mapped for Toontrack samplers (EZD and S2) but I think Rail is porting them for our sampler mappings sometime in the future. They do work using GM mapping but some brush snare swirl tweaking may be needed for optimal playback. Of course, if/when Rail released a TT mapped version, things will run…more swirly.
