Whenever I reopen sessions that include SD3 as an instrument plugin, I lose all previous adjustments made within SD3. The midi grooves that I drag from SD3 to the session track stay in tack but the plugin needs to be removed and reloaded before I can hear any sample playback. After doing so, I need to reload settings within SD3 as all previously made adjustments are lost. This is not how SD2 functioned. Do I need to manually save everything separately inside the SD3 plugin before closing sessions or am I missing a SD3 preference setup that can enable autosaving and easy recall?
SD3 3.1.2 build 20164
PT 12.8.3
Hi,
No, this is not normal. The settings should automatically be saved and restored in the PT project.
What adjustments in SD3 are lost?
You say you can’t hear any sample playback. Is this when playing the PT track or clicking on drums or both? Check the meters in PT and in the mixer in SD3.
In some recent versions of PT, the “Instrument” selection on a track is sometimes lost when a project is saved, so check that: Make sure “Instruments” is ticked in the menu View > Mix Window Views, then see what it says in the Mix window in the second dropdown menu under INSTRUMENT. If it says “none,” this is the issue.

A year and a half later – I’m having the same issue and the resolution you suggested isn’t applicable (under “INSTRUMENT,” SD3 is selected).
What’s happening for me is I’m losing any changes to the midi. For example, if I nix a snare drum hit, or shuffle a hit over a bit etc. – none of those edits are there when I re-open the session later. Super frustrating.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some bugs like this has been fixed for SD3 3.1.5. Have you saved projects, opened them again to find these bugs – all in 3.1.5?
