I have a new iMac. I have all my SD3 samples on an external drive. Is it possible to only install the plugin/app on the new computer, avoiding the long process of reinstalling the samples?
SD3 v3.3.6, EZbass v1.1.7, EZkeys v1.3.4
Studio One v5.5.2, Cubase v12.0.60
3.6GHz Intel i9 iMac, 64GB RAM, OS 12.6.1
Yes! Install SD3 on your iMac then under SD3 Settings go to Libraries/Paths.
You can assign a path to SD3 samples on a different drive.

Thanked by: Brooks HI should’ve looked before asking. I didn’t realize the application was a separate install.
Thanks!

This worked great with one exception. I don’t have access to the grooves; the MIDI that comes with SD3.
The closest I see to that in the Library/Path settings is EZDrummer MIDI. I tried directing that to each of the SD3 folders on my external drive with no success. What am I not doing?

Hi,
the SDX:s folders do not contain any MIDI. Your MIDI repository is system-wide and is under the ‘EZdrummer’ folder specified on your system.
If you have Custom installed your ‘EZdrummer folder to an external drive, e.g. ‘{External_Drive}/Toontrack/EZdrummer’, this is where you point SD3 to under the ‘Additional Libraries – Toontrack MIDI – EZdrummer Sound Libraries (EZXs)’
The Default location for the ‘EZdrummer’ folder on a Mac system is ‘{Mac HD}/Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’.

I did do a custom install but only redirected the samples, I believe. I will check the default location.
Thanks!
