    So, I paid for and have licenses for Superior Drummer 3, Latin and Twisted kits. They all installed and work fine on my Macbook Pro.

    However, I bought a used Muse Receptor back in 2015, it came with Superior Drummer 2 already installed. If you’re unfamiliar, a Muse Receptor is basically a rackmounted PC that runs a customized version of Linux that runs VSTs. Unfortunately Muse went out of business around 2017 and there is no support for the product, except for a Facebook users group. I tried downloading the PC installers for Latin and Twisted kits and installing them, but they failed. I messaged Toontrack support and they basically said they don’t have any old installers. I’m seeing if anyone in the forum has an older installer from around 2013-2016 that might work. Or maybe the DLL files?

    Operating system: Windows 7

    I can take a look in the big Rubbermaid container full of CDs (you know those silvery round things we used to get software on) and see if I can find anything.

    I looked into get a Muse Receptor back when, to off load my iMac. Thought it was a cool concept.

    If I find anything I will let you know here.

    Brad,

    Thank you so much.

    I actually have 2 Muse Receptors. Version 1 Rev C and a Quattro. I just recently cloned their hard drives to SSD and I’m trying to get all the non working VSTs erased off them and get everything I possibly can to work on them. Having something in a rackmount case on wheels is so much more worry free for live shows than a laptop that might fall off a table or get damaged.

    Let me know if you find anything.

    Jack,

    I’m not going to try to install SD3 on the Receptor, it has SD2 installed. But if that works, the Latin and Twisted kits should work too.

    Here’s the response that I got from Toontrack support…

    Compatibility with Muse Receptor
    <ul dir=”auto”>

  • Superior Drummer 2 (SD2) on your Muse Receptor Quattro is a 32-bit application, and both the Latin and Twisted EZX kits were designed to work with SD2.
  • You should be able to install and use these expansions with SD2 on your Muse Receptor.
  • Registration and Authorization
    Since the Muse Receptor is an older system:

    1. Ensure you have the Toontrack Product Manager installed on a separate, compatible computer.
    2. Use the Product Manager to download the necessary installer files for the Latin and Twisted kits.
    3. Transfer the files to the Muse Receptor and install them manually.
    4. The authorization process may require offline activation. You’ll need to generate an authorization file from the Muse Receptor and upload it to your Toontrack account using a different computer.

     Important Considerations
    <ul dir=”auto”>

  • System Limitations: The Muse Receptor and SD2 are legacy systems and no longer supported for updates. Some functionality may be limited compared to using these kits in Superior Drummer 3.
  • Support Discontinuation: If you encounter issues with installation or authorization on the Muse Receptor, support options may be limited due to the age of the platform.

Sorry, not quite sure what happened with the formatting on that. I just copy and pasted from an email. Maybe this will work better…

I think you’re out of luck getting those 2 expansions to install and work on the Muse.

What the heck happened to the formatting on this page?

I make have broken it! Sorry

Well, Latin Percussion came out in 2006 and Twisted Kit came out in 2007, so I think there is some hope for finding some installer that will work. And from Toontrack’s support message, it seems like an offline authorization is possible.

3 large Rubbermaid later….
Honestly can’t believe I don’t have these as I do own them. I even found the CD for SD2, original EZDrummer and a few other SDX and EZXs, but sorry, not the 2 you are looking for.

I will keep an eye open, you never know.
