When you upgrade to EZdrummer 2 (from version 1) the Pop/Rock library (that was included in EZdrummer 1) becomes an EZX and is added to your account (so that you can install it again in the future if you ever need to without installing EZdrummer version 1). Do you have the Pop/Rock EZX in your Toontrack account? If so, download and install it.

    Hi Scott,

Once again you have proved to be a fount of knowledge and helpful in the extreme. I do have Pop/Rock EZX in my account, and I have downloaded it. Thanks for your assistance..

[EDIT] And it works just fine. It’s good to get the cowbell back – although I notice now that my other EZX’s also have a cowbell tucked away in the shaker options. [/EDIT]

I just uninstalled EZdrummer 1 and installed EZdrummer 2. The Pop/Rock kit is not showing up as an EZX for me. Is there another way to get the Pop/Rock kit back.

Uninstall EZD2. Reinstall ezd1. Then just install EZD2 over the top of ezd1. It will replace ezd1 but will keep the ezd1 content (ezd1 MIDI and pop/rock kit).

I have uninstalled EZD2, but I cannot reinstall EZD1. I am running Mac OS Mojave and my DVD installer disc says that I have the wrong version of Mac OS to install.

Is there a way to get just the Pop and Rock kit as an EZD to install or a way to get the installer working with MacOS Mojave?

Does the EZD1 download include the EZD1 Pop and Rock Kit and MIDI files? Maybe that installer will work.

Do you get the same error message when you use the Toontrack Product Manager to download and install EZD1? Don’t use the DVD.

I recently installed Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB) and I’ve run into some issues with EZD2 in CbB. The EZDrummer GUI no longer shows the animated hits on the various parts of a kit, it’s like looking at a static picture instead of seeing the dynamic hits I’m used to seeing in Sonar 8.5 when a tune is playing.

Also, I can’t seem to get the drum kit to change if I want it to, let’s say from Blues Kit to Vintage Kit. It’s really easy in Sonar, just click on the drop-down menu in the top RH corner of the EZD GUI and click on a different kit and it loads. But not so in CbB, even though the drop down menu shows the name of the new drum kit, the GUI and the kit don’t update, and neither do the samples.

I have also posted this problem in the CbB Forum, but so far nothing has been resolved. Scott, I know your are the man who can solve this issue – or at least, I hope you can!

Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with cakewalk.

Does is do the same thing with EZD2 standalone? In another DAW? If not it’s a cakewalk issue. If so, it’s a system issue. That is all I can think of at the moment.

Hi Scott, the EZD2 standalone works fine, the hits are animated, and changing the kit via the drop down menu works as expected.

In Cakewalk Sonar 8.5.3 EZD2 works perfectly, animated hits and changing kits on the fly both work. Clearly there’s something amiss with the EZD2/Cakewalk by Bandlab combination that no one can seem to solve at present.

    Thanks for your input.

    Hi Scott,

I’m now able to report that all is sweetness and light with CbB and EZD2

The animated EZD2 GUI works, the kit can be changed on the fly, and I’m happy 🙂 It was resolved by installing the latest version of CbB 2019.12 Build 26 as advised by DeeringAmps over at the CakeWalk by Bandlab Forum.

Ah yes. The ole “make sure you are running the latest version” solution. Only seconded to the “turn it off and turn it back on” solution in the tech world of effectiveness. ?

It works now. Thanks. I had to uninstall/cleanup EZD1 and EZD2 and then reinstall EZD1 from the Product Manager and then install EZD2 over EZD1.

    Works like a champ.

    thanks,

    Mark
