I unzipped the the zip file went through the steps as prompted to in stall Ez Drummer version 1.4.0 and got a message telling me it was installed. But where did it go to? I’m running Windows 7 and I checked program files , program files (x86) , and program data. And I cannot find it. It’s acknowledged in “Programs And Features”. So it’s in there somewhere.
EZDrummer 1.4.0 is not a standalone program. It is a plugin and requires a host program.
like Toontack Solo or a DAW (Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, Studio One, etc).
I am running a host program/DAW it’s Ableton Live 9. I have EZ Mix and once I installed it it showed up just fine. The same with the previous version of EZ Drummer (1.3.3). So can somebody tell me what’s up here? Because like I said when I go to “Programs and Features” in Windows I see it there. And again, I checked program files , program files (x86) , and program data and don’t see it. If anyone can help me out I’ll be your best friend in the whole world. I sent this same question to Toontrack Support and they don’t seem to know. Hell, they obviously don’t really read the email. Because after clearly telling them what DAW I use they told me the same thing. That EZD needs a host program/DAW. Thanks again to anyone who can help out.
Hi,
are you running Ableton Live 9 64-bit or 32-bit?
Did you install both 32-bit and 64-bit EZdrummer 1.4.0 updates?
In the Live Preferences, you have a VST tab. There you should see where the program looks for VST plugins. If you are running Live 64-bit, you need to include the VST scan path to the 64-bit version of EZdrummer. Then Re-scan.
Please see Scott’s post here:

Even though he talks about the Superior 2 plugin, the procedure is the same.

Hello John,
I’m running Live 9 64-bit. And unlike when I installed EZD 1.3.3 I didn’t get the option to choose EZD 32 or 64-bit. I’m including screenshots to show what happened when I tried to install the EZD update that I downloaded. Also I when I clicked the link you provided I got this , “Access denied – you do not have permission to view this page” , even though I was logged on to my Tootrack account. Here are the screenshots:
OK,
I’m copying it here:

The default location for the installation of a 32-bit Toontrack plug-in on 32-bit Operating system is C:ProgramFilesVstPluginsToontrack.
The default location of a 32-bit Toontrack plug-in on a 64-bit Operating system is
C:ProgramFiles(x86)VstPluginsToontrack32bit.Finally, the default location of a 64-bit Toontrack plug-in on a 64-bit system is
C:ProgramFilesVstPluginsToontrack64bit.Check those install locations depending on your OS and which version of S2 you installed (32-bit or 64-bit).
In Ableton Live go to Options > Preferences > File Folder > Plug-In Sources (at the bottom).
Make sure Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder is set to On.
Make sure the VST Plug-In Custom Folder is set to the same file path where you installed S2 (see above).
Your screen shots make it clear that
a) you are running the Full installer and not the update, can be confusing I know but please look at my screen shot which file I want you to download. It contains both a 32-bit and 64-bit plugin updater.
b) Your VST path in Ableton Live points to a 64-bit path. Please see the info above.
