I am trying to install State of the Art SDX on a Mac OS 15.3 . I have 360 GB available on the HD. The path to the Library/Applications Support/Superior Drummer looks correct. The Installer says there is only 36GB available which is not enough space. I checked again…the HD has 360 GB available. I restarted the puter and tried the install several times. The Installer errantly thinks there is not enough space.
Ideas?

I don’t believe Superior Drummer 2 had a timeline. In that case, you could probably switch your old projects over to Superior Drummer 3 and get rid of Superior Drummer 2 itself, if you want. You might even find new life in your old projects if you decide not to use the NY Avatar library.

Will SD3 automatically pickup in place of SD3? Assuming the libraries are the same (like the core library)? IOW if I load a session that had SD2 will SD3 automatically replace SD2?

No sd3 definitely will not load the sd2 preset or automatically get substituted if a project was created with sd2.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
To further elaborate on Mark‘s post, Superior Drummer 3 won’t load user presets from Superior Drummer 2. Factory presets are different story since Superior Drummer 3 will open all libraries from Superior Drummer 2.
however, if the OP is on an M series, Mac, then the only way he would be able to access his old projects with Superior Drummer 2 is by running Rosetta. That’s when the user has to determine if it is worth it. If the old projects could use some new life, then he can drop in Superior Drummer 3.
At this point, I think the OP is capable enough of making his own informed decisions.
