I’m trying to updated EZDrummer 2 to see my EZDrummer 1 expansion packs.
I got
Install Error
Your library seems damaged. You will need to reinstall the full product before applying this update.
Trouble is, it’s not damaged since I can use the libraries in Superior Drummer 2 with no issue.
So just on Americana, I did download the whole install and sure enough EZDrummer 2 now sees that library.
But Superior Drummer 2 saw the library before I did the full install.
Why do I have to redownload the full installs for my EZDrummer expansions when they’re working just fine in Superior Drummer 2.
I’m trying to avoid downloading what I already have on my hard drive.
Any clues or solutions?
My guess is that you only need to reinstall EZDrummer2, not your EZX expansions – downloading it only if you don’t still have the installation file on your hard drive.
I suspect that you need to download and apply the updates for your EZX expansions and possibly the the updates for SuperiorDrummer.

I read that you only needed to use the latest updates for each expansion pack.

Although, I did try what you suggested as well, I installed the original EZDrummer 3GB install, then the 2.0.2 update followed by the core library update.
Then for my first test I did the update to the Electronic expansion pack and I got that same error.
In the meantime I did another test and found out what the issue is.
The update for each expansion pack to let EZDrummer 2 let each expansion pack get added to its list as available kits, the problem is, it’s not looking where I have the library which is on my external drive. I used Toontracks Mover application to move to another location.
So I copied Electronic to the system drive where EZDrummer originally puts it’s expansion packs and then ran the latest updated for Electronic expansion pack and sure enough, I got no install error and EZDrummer 2 now sees my Electronic expansion pack as an available kit, after I reauthorized it again too.
So now my next question to Toontrack support is, can I still use Mover or is that still available so I can move back to the external drive (more for updating any config files) so EZDrummer 2 will have no issues with seeing all my purchase expansion packs?
There was a reason why I did move to an external drive.
Okay, that’s what the problem was.
The installer is not reconizing where the expansion kits are located even though I used Toontrack Mover or EZMover what ever it’s called.
So I copied all my expansion packs back to the system drive where EZDrummer 1 originally loaded them, then ran all the new updates so EZDrummer 2 can see them and that worked.
Now I’m waiting for Toontrack Support to let me know how can I move them back to my external hard drive where EZDrummer 2 will still see them.
After I do that then I would have to go into Superior Drummer 2 and just make sure it still sees the same folders?
Thanks for the info and now I’m assuming there’s no EZMover application any more or just don’t use that anymore.
Once I go thru that process that’s in the link you provided I’m assuming I won’t fall back into that original error again. The reason I ask is from time to time I do reformat my hard drive to keep it fresh. Sort of a long winded defrag.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
if EZdrummer 2 sees your EZX’s and MIDI correctly, Superior 2 does automatically. You should NOT point Superior 2 to the EZX’s like you would with SDX libraries (Setting Sound Paths).

Apparently you can only mark one posted as answered, but you help me out as well. Thanks.
You’re welcome. Thank you for the shout-out.
I do what I can so that the paid Toontrack Support guys can focus on the harder and more technical issues…like your SuperiorDrummer configuration question.
