Insert Bars – EZ Drummer 3

I need to insert 4 bars after bar 7 in my song. How do I do this in EZ Drummer 3?

PLace the playhead at the end of bar 7 and click add standard groove. You can then adjust the number of measures as needed.

Thank you for your feedback. I did as you directed (clicked on add std groove with playhead at bar 7) but it added 4 bars to the end of my song.

Add Groove: This button inserts a full four-bar groove at the first free slot in the timeline after the current playhead position. If the slot is smaller than four bars, the inserted groove is shortened to fit the free area. The Add Groove button always adds a simple eighth-note groove.

I’m not in the studio currently to test or elaborate on the process
but it appears that you must make space for the bars to be inserted…

That is exactly what I want to do – insert 4 bars (space) starting at bar 7. I just can’t firgure out how to do it other than selecting all the grooves in my song (84 bars long) and then moving them 4 bars to the right. This is pretty tedious as  have a number of different grooves in the song.

In Studio One V5, I use the track menu item “insert silence” to add bars to the song, which I did in this case at bar 7. I was hoping that EZD3 would do likewise automatically.  I have the “Follow Host” button turned on in EZD3.

If there is no other way, I will just have to keep this in mind as I work on other songs.

I make all of my drum tracks in Studio One. Drag and drop your grooves onto your DAW drum track and edit them as much as like.

I usually wait until I am done with the song to drop grooves in. This makes more sense & will eliminate the problem.
