Am using EZ Multi ptf, understand that increasing velocity can increase the volume, however if this does not bring up say the crash symbols enough, i have to increase volume on overhead track. This brings up everything in the track, which of course changes the mix in an undesirable way. Any way to increasevolume on say just the crash symbols, without the snare, toms etc, coming up also. thanks. mac- protools 7.4.2
no, that’s the way a drum session works.
That said, Superior Drummer does allow you to do what you are after, including when it comes to your EZdrummer sounds (pop/rock set and EZX-s), so if this is a ‘must have’ for you then I would suggest you look at the upgrade for what you get for your money and decide whether that’s worth it (I think you’ll find it most certainly does). You can download the Superior manual from your Toontrack account to check out the feature set in full details.

In addition to what Rogue said, if you want to bring up just the cymbals in the Overhead channel without also bringing up everything else, you can switch the ‘Bleed’ button to ‘Off’. This will remove all but the cymbals from the Overhead channel.
