Is it possible to increase the volume/velocity of the hi-hat “chick” sound only – not affecting the cymbal strike volumes (closed, open, edge strike, etc.)?

In EZDrummer I would say no. Superior Drummer gives you the ability to adjust the volume and velocity of each articulation.

Thanked by: EssKayKayWhile I haven’t tried this specifically for high hat “chick”, I have used a regular EQ on tones or accents I wanted to accentuate. Depending on the DAW you’re using there might even be a preset for high hats that might point you in the right direction sound-wise.
Good luck,
Devin

Thanked by: EssKayKayThanks Devin. I’m running EZD3 standalone so no DAW option(s), at least not yet. Being a newby, that will be next on this excursion.

Is this for playing realtime/live or creating/assembling a drum track in EXDrummer?

EssKayKay,
There are loads of free options in the DAW universe to explore when you’re ready. Best of success with it. One final thought, if you are using EZD3 you might want to swap out the hi-hat with one of the other choices. You have several kit choices and a few extra hi-hat options. There are also a ton of EZX modules if you don’t already have these.
Good luck,
Devin

Live/Real time. Actually for personal use only – not gigging.
Which e-kit are you using? Just a thought. Is there an option to lower the velocity curve of the other hi-hat hits, leaving the “chick-pedal” as is and push the fader up in EZDrummer?

My module is the Pearl MimicPRO. I’m not sure that’s possible but I will take look at that. However, my VST ONLY kit is “empty” with no assigned instruments so I’m not sure there’d be anything to adjust. Good suggestion – thanks again.
