Incoming new expansions releases

Hello everyone,

I am kind of new to Toontrack and I am just enjoying my SD3 acquisition lately. I have bought the new York City Vol.3 expansion with SD3 because of the snare sound of the Slingerland Wood that is very close to my dream snare (high tune, snare rolls like “an autumn leaf” if I may say :D).

Toontrack just released the new Death And Darkness expansion for SDX. Furthermore, some expansions are on discount sales. I could really dig the Progressive Foundry but Death And Darkness seems to be just amazing. Well, I have to decide and my wallet is already crying… Few words, I am in a Black Metal band with lots of melodic, progressive and jazzy influences and I am looking for the perfect snare and the perfect hit hat mostly, to my ears.

My question : Is Toontrack going to release a new expansion for this “Metal month” or could I buy the D&D expansion without any fear that Toontrack will release something related to Black Metal or Progressive Metal this month or in few months ?

Death and Darkness was just released for Metal Month. Considering that they released three expansions this year, any more before the end of the year would probably be nothing short of a surprise. Even if they did, I am still aiming for D&D because it sounds amazing.

I am new to Toontrack, I don’t know their habits with releasing new material. Guess Halloween is the new Christmas for drummers and Metal drummers 😀

I don’t know if I can call myself new any more since I came full on board when SD3 was released. However, from what I have learned, I’d say November is where we prepare our metal to decorate our Christmas trees. And Toontrack is giving us to power tools to forge our metal.

Sadly for me, my metal month with D&D won’t be able to happen until the new year, but I can live vicariously through everyone else this month. Good thing that many of the other SDXs that I own are more than fabulous to carry me through Metal Month.
