Not quite sure how to explain this, but once I assemble my parts in SD3 then import the MIDI to Reaper, the drums are not the same.
Often – but not always – I can hear drums at the beginning of the track, which should be silent. Then I hear crash cymbals in unexpected places and some parts do not appear at all – but the length of the drum track is spot on.
Something very weird is going on. I’ve been using SD3 and Reaper for years and have never encountered this. Trying to think about what’s changed but as far as I know, I’m doing the same things I’ve always done. This just started a week or so ago.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Jack
Have you used an edrum preset at all as this can change mappings. Try putting back to default if you have. Also any mappings changed on the main page?
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
I don’t even know what an edrum preset is or where to find such a thing. I suppose I might have inadvertently touched something I didn’t mean to touch, but where is this edrum preset?
Same with mapping on the main page. Not a clue. I AM A BASS PLAYER.
Thanks!
Jack
On the edrum page and then the presets. Sounds unlikely you have changed that then. I think it’s named edrum but I’m not in front of my pc.

Thanked by: bovinehostProblem identified if not totally solved: at some point and for reasons I now forget, in Reaper I reset the project start to measure one.
Don’t do that.
For reasons I do not completely understand, I could move the real instruments – bass, guitars, etc – but the drums decided that measure one was their starting point and it really screwed with the rest of the drum track.
So now you know.
