    Hi,

while you can import your own samples, there is no “track” per se to put a song onto. You can import a sample to a User created Instrument and trigger it to start but you cannot pause or e.g. fast forward.

There are also a number of DAWs available to use. Despite Reaper being only $60 if you want to get rid of the nag, it is freely available for your usage. You can put your audio track there and play along to it with SD3 as a plug-in.

Thanks fo your replies,I’ve now set up sd3 in reaper but can only get sound out the drum kits by clicking the mouse on any drum or cymbal but it does not respond when I play on my td50.
the TD50 is connected via computer cable to my desk top and works perfectly when using sd3 as a stand-alone without going through reaper. I’m obviously missing something to connect them all together, anyone know of any links on the site that explains the set up for using electric drums as your midi controller with sd3 going through reaper to record?

    many thanks Brian
