Ok….tried to delete them but I don’t know…. I don’t really get what you mean if it’s not the path in the Product manager you want a screenshot of. It pretty much shows exactly where Ive downloaded and installed SD3, doesn’t it+

What Jord wants is a screenshot of the page in SD3 that shows the file locations. Go to the settings tab at the top of the SD3 gui and select libraries/path

    Is this the one, perhaps?

Exactly. And by that it shows you have the samples files installed on your internal system drive.

Ok, well this forum really seems like some kind of competition for little boys rather than where we all share our knowledge in a nice way. Perhaps it is not that crazy…but why didn’t someone in here of all the “besserwissers” and “know it alls” tell me so in the first place??? Oh well….or even better…. why isn’t it possible to se what the system-file contains of…then non of this would have to happen and take up our valued time on this earth…But that’s for Apple to answer…and they won’t….no one in Apples support told me that this isn’t an extremely large amount of system file data….now why is that, you think? The redirected me over here…wich I realise was a big mistake…I m outta here. Thank you and bye bye

No it doesn’t! I thought you’ve read my earlier posts….the name of my external drives are…”Janne Laci” and “Superior Drummer”….so perhaps you should take a closer look.

We tried to help you but you just didn’t understand what was asked of you. As to the amount of system data as I wrote earlier that’s NOT an outsized amount of data. My system has roughly the same amount of system data as you. You’re obsessing over something you have little control over. Now if you would move the sample files all over to one external drive then you’ll have more breathing room on your internal system drive.

And, by the way, my experience of all of this is that none of you were right…and most of you were also very snobbish in their way of “trying” to help…so I return were I started…with, in my (and the Apple supports) opinion that it IS a very large amount of system data……The REAL answer is yet to be discovered when Apple decides to reveal their “system data information” instead of hiding it..

Jack is right. There is no competition here and the only one being difficult is yourself. And if you saw that we were trying to help you find answers rather than trying to be right, perhaps you’d change your tune.

That being said. Your screenshot verified what SD3 sees, as opposed to the product manager. Apple doesn’t hide any data. You need to know where to find it. Best way to find your size issue is to show all sizes in the finder as posted in my screenshot and follow the path on your Startup Volume with the size issue. This will lead you to your issue. The answer is probably either in your System’s Library folder or your user Library folder. Those aren’t Apple issues.

    Good luck

I don’t know how much more plainly I can state this: the amount of system data you showed in one of your screenshots (259 gig IIRC) is not excessive but normal.

Wow, what a great pissing contest this has been, I am older I’ve done more than you you’ve done more than me. Oh, my freaking God boys really!

    I see two issues here.

    1. did the libraries get moved and stored on external hard drive?
    2. does superior drummer function correctly in standalone, and then inside of a daw?

Now if option one and two are met, does it really matter what your cash file size or system overflow file size or …………matter? Really!!!!

Does it work in your daw and does it work in standalone?

Are the files stored where are you want them?

let the operating system take care of its self, and leave it alone

and that is my $.10 worth

Exactly. I think the OP has 2 issues. The first is basic knowledge of how things work with SD3 (and MacOS for that matter). And the second is his obsession over the size of the system file folder. A lot of the malarkey could have been avoided if Janne had given us accurate info to begin with as to what the actual problem is. Like you say if it works in standalone and Logic then the rest is much ado about nothing.
