Now that you have found them, you can add “Size” to the headings and then sort by Size and this should give you a pretty good idea of what is eating up your storage.

    Sort-by-Size

Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
    OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
    Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
    2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)

Aha, so in what way exactly should I set up the installer? And how do you know that you’ve been doing “this” (exactly what?) a LOT longer than me? I was born 1968 and have been working professionally as a musician in Sweden since I was 18 years old. Started creating and mixing in the box when Atari launched their first sequencer. is that long enough or are you going to keep on with this insulting-game? I thought this was a forum for grown-ups…By the way, do you work at Toontrack? If not….thank you for trying to “help”, but no thanks.

I was born in 1952. Been working with computers since before the first Apple computer. Knew the two Steves (Jobs and Wozniak). Been both sides of the glass since the early 70’s. Analog and digital so I’ve seen it all and then some. And WAY before your time. Done more than my share of programming and debugging systems. So I think I know what I’m talking about.

How about giving us a full screen shot of what’s in your download folder? As to how to setup the installer it doesn’t take an Einstein or degree in computer science. It’s obvious you’re doing something wrong and may not even know it. You shouldn’t have system files in that folder. I have a 1TB ssd system drive that is only a third full. Pro Tools 2021.6, SD3, Digital Performer 9.x, a boatload of plugins and other software. Yet just about 330gig used. All samples on a separate 2 TB ssd in the card cage (2012 Mac Pro desktop). Never even came close to what you’re having an issue with. That’s why I ascribe it to either pilot error or not knowing exactly how to configure things. I bet if I sat with you I’d have it sussed out in less than 5 m inutes.

Ok, but I checked “Get info” on each and every one of them and all those Keyscape or SD3- files were where they should be…(on my two external hard-drives named “Jannes Laci” and “Superior Drummer”)

But I found some other files that I didn’t expect to find, but they do not affect the Internal Disc.

Thank you for taking your time, Brad

Ok, this is the kind of more concrete help that might help…I will not even get in to the competition regarding who’s done this and that…It seems like we both been around for a while…

Sending a screen of my download-folder.

I don’t understand what you mean with: “You shouldn’t have system files in that folder”. Which folder are you talking about…Do you mean the download-folder?

Exactly. No system files in the downloads folder. And your screenshot doesn’t agree with what you posted earlier in this thread with a supposed 400 gig or so of files there in your downloads folder. We’re getting completely different stories from you.

Where did you install your drum library? That is different than simply downloading it. Check your Library Path preferences in SD3. Post a Screenshot.

I didn’t ask for screenshots of your Product Manager. That’s not the information I’m looking for. Post a screenshot of your library path preference in SD3. As well, never post screenshots with your serial numbers (you should remove the ones you posted).

Come on now Jack….I wrote 300 or so….didn´t I? If not…does it really matter? Why don’t you have a look for yourself at the screen with the System Data file….Instead of trying to find issues with my way of posting, try to solve my dilemma instead…I can post you all the screenshots you want, just tell me.

    Hello Brad!
Thanks a lot for reaching out!
I actually found some files there, which shouldn’t be there. That was a great tip…Still stuck though with crazy amount of “System Data”.

    • This post was modified 2 years, 2 months ago by Jannetrumma.

That amount of system data is NOT crazy. I have roughly the same amount of system data on my Mac here as you do. Don’t worry about that amount as there’s precious little you can do about it except to possibly delete programs. Evidently you don’t quite understand the MacOS all that deeply.

You’ve been asked for screenshots and haven’t provided the ones requested – see Jord’s response above. Yes it does matter as we can’t give accurate answers without accurate data from you.

Ok….tried to delete them but I don’t know…. I don’t really get what you mean if it’s not the path in the Product manager you want a screenshot of. It pretty much shows exactly where Ive downloaded and installed SD3, doesn’t it+

    Jannetrumma

Why don’t you tell me exactly what kind of screens you need… the ones I uploaded showed exactly where Ive downloaded and Installed everything, didn’t it?

I did tell you which screens I wanted. Close the product manager and open Superior Drummer. Find your Library Path settings and post a screenshot of that.

Oh really, is that how it all came down…? Or maybe you didn’t have a very pedagogic way of explaining what you wanted…why even reply in a forum meant to help people if you can’t explain clearly what you mean. I know for sure that this wasn’t my cup of tea. Perhaps you should come to the same conclusion….

In what way should it affect my internal drive if I’d route everything to just one external drive…please explain…in a nice pedagogic way, this time around, please.
