I know this was mentioned before and you guys did some work on it. I just checked the new update and the filename is definitely “prettier” however you took out the original BPM of the clip which makes it that much harder to find after it’s been dropped into my DAW (reaper)!!!
Old way:
_EZD2MIDI_000343@MUSIC_CITY_USA/305@STRAIGHT_4#4/172-S502@VERSE/Variation_01.mid – Variation_01.mid
Ok this is super ugly, but at least I can figure out which straight 4/4 verse it is from by looking at the 172 number (which is the original bpm).
Not ideal by a long shot but it’s a lot better than what it does now:
Music City USA/Straight 4/4/Verse/Variation 01 – Variation 01-imported.mid
OK great, I know it’s music city, straight 4/4, and the name is prettier, BUT there are a lot of straight 4/4 sets in music city pack (9 to be exact)…
How about adding the name of the set and bpm? that would make it super easy to identify when needed:
Music City USA/Straight 4/4/Country Rock 172/Verse/Variation 01 – Variation 01-imported.mid
Then i’d know exactly where it’s at. All that’s been accomplished with this update is to take a somewhat usable if clunky system, and make it completely unusable as far as i can see.
I know working in the song timeline is what you guys had in mind, but it’s a real pain in the butt when you’re composing and you’re trying to move sections, copy sections etc… within your DAW, it adds whole other steps to simple processes. If there was some way to make the song time line in superior drummer follow copy/paste/moves from the DAW – that would be golden!!
In the meantime I need to drag midi to my DAW after i’ve decided on a beat, and i really need to be able to find what the midi groove i was working with was after coming back to a project after a week or two, without going on a 10 minute hunt.
Thanks!
I understand that the current implementation makes it tricky to easily find the correct groove quickly in some cases. We’ll take a look at this!
