Hi all,
I have seen an older post from 2016, but just wondering if this has been resolved with SD3.
Going back to a ‘work in progress‘ project in Cubase, I want to know what midi grooves I used when creating this idea. (See image)
After a few weeks I have limited memory on what midi grooves I used for this idea, and want to develop it further using the same family of grooves.
Any ideas how to identify the grooves…?
I will say, that in the past, I have typed out the groove names in notepad and stored that file, or used the notepad editor in each Cubase track to make it easier. But, when you have 1,000s of midi grooves, easily knowing what is what seems like default functionality.
Thanks in advance anyone
Carl.
I have traditionally used Superior drummer to create demos for a real drummer to then track an acoustic kit, but I am now using SD3 for my music.
I like to use The Progressive Foundry, Decades and NYS Vol3
Actually, just found a solution.
Open SD3 in Grooves mode, and then DRAG your midi file from your DAW onto the ‘MIDI DROP ZONE‘ area and that will identify what midi ‘groove’ it is in SD3.

Or, I imagine maybe this was created to allow users to drap ‘NON’ Toontrack midi onto the ‘MIDI DROP ZONE’ and be able to select a close version from your own midi library.
Anyway, that’s sorted it for myself. Hopefully other users will benefit from my post.
Cheers
Carl
