Hi when I create patterns within song creator then I drag and drop those patterns into Cubase 5, the identifiers for the midi patterns dissapears the only identifier I can see is “EzDrummer 01” at the bottom of the midi file in the track. Why does not the midi file identifier stay when I place into Cubase 5?
That is the way the Song Track works. When you drag all MIDI from the Song track, it is exported in one file and it won’t export as individual files with unique names. I tend to keep everything in the Song Track and never export to Cubase so I can always reference where the MIDI came from. Our, I keep the MIDI in the Song Track even after exporting so I can reference them again. Kind of like a scratch pad. I just remember to turn off the sync to host so both Cubase MIDI and the EZD 2 a song track midi don’t play at the same time.

Is there away to write the midi reference in the cubase track? Or do I have to use the notes field for each midi file dragged and dropped into cubase?
There is no need to decipher the hiroglyphic identifiers in EZD2. For any midi in the Song track, right-click on it and select ‘find in browser’.
So, I drag midi that I use to the song track. Then, they are easily traced back to the browser.

Thank you Scott!
Since I am unable to amend the sizing of Song creator I have to view the midi patterns in a small format. Whereas if I drag and drop in cubase
I and re-size my midi patterns to what ever size I want height and width. within ez drummer I have a fixed environment/
