For all intents and purposes Toontrack made it too much like a real drummer it doesn’t work half the time, can’t keep a beat to save it’s life, farts around and makes sounds drums aren’t designed to make, hell if it lived in truck, tried hitting on my mom, & was always bumming money off me, be hard pressed not to say they succeeded swimmingly!

    Hi,

Does EZDrummer 2 work in Standalone? From your description above I would bet that it does. If so, the Mixcraft issue is solely related to setting the path to the installed location of the EZdrummer 2 32 bit DLL file in the Mixcraft plugin manager.

You can find the location of the 32 bit EZDrummer 2 DLL by launching EZDrummer 2 32 bit in stand alone and clicking Help > Show plugin path.

As for how to use the plugin manager in Mixcraft… You will need to check the Mixcraft manual or contact Mixcraft support.

Regarding the strange distortion that you are hearing in EZDrummer 2. EZDrummer 2 itself does not have distortion in its samples and this type of distortion is caused by the audio driver that is being used. On a windows system it is necessary to use a Professional audio ASIO driver for low latency distortion free playback. ASIO drivers are included with most modern audio interfaces but if you don’t have one you can find a free one at http://www.asio4all.com.

Regarding the timing issue. When launched in a host EZDrummer 2 will follow the hosts tempo and timing. Therefore if the timing has changed in the host EZDrummer will simply follow these changes. Just make sure that the “follow host” button is ON. This is found near the bottom middle of the EZdrummer 2 interface.

I am using reaper 64bit I installed dll for the vst to reapers 64 folder, still having a little bit of drag and drop issues! Your right stand alone works fine, I cant record with stand so wtf use is it? I’m using the asio. like I said it was working fine then all the sudden stopped no clue what happened. it’s all fucking mute since now I don’t have an authorized computer to run it. And when I say speed up and slow down I’m being nice, it’s more like someone throwing a bunch of pots and pans down the hallway! It renders fine, but it makes editing impossible. I believe it’s one of two things my net book can’t seem to handle the work load which is weird cause it did fine for half a day, or I messed something up with asio driver. I’m using a line 6 pod hd pro x plug in through the usb. I just want it to work!

How the heck do Add it to my laptop to see if I have better luck with that, if it won’t even let un-unauthorize my netbook?

The point in asking you if stand alone works is to see if the EZDRummer 2 VST plugin works on your computer. Both Reaper and Mixcraft use the EXACT same VST plugin that EZDrummer 2 stand alone does. Therefore If it works in Stand alone we know that the EZDRummer 2 plugin is fine and not the cause of the issue… The cause of the issue are the other variables (i.e. the host and the driver).

Unfortunately there is no evidence that EZDrummer is the cause of the issues that you are experiencing. Maybe if we had your full system specifications we could find an issue? Please provide these.

Further, Toontrack does not use or include any Spyware or adware in our software. Besides the fact that including spyware is unethical, Everyone at Toontrack downloads our own software the same way that customers do and we do not want this kind of garbage on our computers either.

Dude, I just need help, and that asio4free link was filled with spyware check your links before you hand them out! Where did you go, its like we are playing door bell ditch. Can I just get some help. I reinstalled for the 10 time last night, and added all the updates now the stand alone is unstable. ( it’s stuttering on it’s phrasing adding accents and missing beats) I keep doing what little advice I get from you, but then I hit road blocks then nothing. I’m a paying customer unlike half the people posting here. If you don’t believe I’ll show you my sweetwater receipt. I like your product otherwise I would have already demanded my money back from them already. I just need a little more help than I’m getting from you guys. Things you guys design are awesome, but your customer service is where we are falling out! I starting believe the my problem is the net book I using is in dire need of a install, like I said previously! Not trying to rip you guys off I’m allowed two working copies all I want is one. Sorry, for being a bit of Richard, but after installing & 4 programs 30 times just to get one working you get a little short with people. what’s say you just help me get your merchandise working that I paid you for, and we can both be happy!

    Hey dude,

    First,

I am guessing here but do you have much experience in dealing with VST’s and DAW’s?? Just saw that you tried to first run EZdrummer 2 on a NETBOOK first?? If that isn’t a typo then you REALLY need to check out the specs before you ordered and installed the software you bought. I have dealt with Sweetwater many times and their support is second to none in general. Did you just order it from the website? Or did you speak with a rep first? Cause they would have told you that a NETBOOK is woefully underpowered to run something as demanding as EZdrummer, 1 or 2.

    Second,

You are using a Line6 POD Pro X. Line6 is notorious for having VERY finicky USB drivers for the interfaces. I have used their products for 10 years. Make sure that you have run Line6 Monkey and updated your interface to the LATEST drivers and firmware for your POD. Second they have a seperate app that lowers and raises their latency for their interfaces. I haven’t used the windows version of their software in a while but the MAC version is in the system preferences pane, so it should be in the Line6 app folder or check the sound card settings for your Line6 within Windows control panel. Please also note the following webpage http://www.toontrack.com/product/ezdrummer-2/. At the bottom of said page is all the hosts that are supported and the min and recommended specs of both PC’s and Mac’s. Unless you are running the more expensive version of Mixcraft’s DAW, the Pro version, then your DAW isn’t even officially supported.

    Third,

    Here’s the Toontrack youtube channel….

    https://www.youtube.com/user/Toontrack/

This channel has EVERYTHING you need to both install/setup and USE the software. This was not hard to find bro. I understand you bought and paid for a piece of software. As a user YOU have some responsibility to make sure you have what you need to run the software. There is a TON of material on EZdrummer versions one and two on the ‘net just waiting to be watched. They will probably get you further faster than anything. Of course getting help from the products manufacturer should be an option as well. But the universe tends to help those who help themselves a little first….

    Good luck,

    Listen to that advice mate.
Re – Audio speeding up slowing down, make sure your project audio and plugins are running at the same sample rate in this case 44.1
    Thats like Audio 101.

If the rest of us use EZD2 in real time, pro recording and live situations perfectly glitch free and working 100%,
The main problem you must have is your system setup and dare i say lack of understanding of what YOU are doing with it .
