Well I started on DFH the one before SD2 and did beta testing for SD2 and EZDrummer before I became too busy. I have used SD2 with different packs and to be honest couldn’t think how it could be improved.

SD3 has showed me just how much it can be improved. With very little reading of the instructions I have managed to set it up working to how I like although I think I have a bit of tweaking to do yet. The flexibility is so much better. I can interchange toms and sizes with ease and they are in the right place. The hi-hat tuning is brilliant and the sounds! Well they are brilliant and what I have been looking for all along. Loads of Toms and concert toms. I’m not sure I will ever need another pack. Even though I have pulled over my old packs I don’t think I will be using them. One thing is lacking though and that is hi-hat sounds. I’ve gone with the 15″ as it suits me best but I prefer the sound of the one I use in Rock Warehouse but it doesn’t play as well as the new SD3 one does. Saying that it sits in the mix well.

Next brilliant feature is it works standalone. This is great for practicing so I don’t have to open a DAW which in itself can take a while and just for fun you can actually record!. The graphics are great and it hasn’t killed of my old DAW.

I haven’t even got to the drum replacement features yet or the mixer and effects. I was considering selling my TD30 and getting a Pearl mimic pro but not anymore as this is taking up all my time just playing the drums. I haven’t played as much in years.

Well done on such an achievement
