Can someone help me understand why this doesn’t do what I expect it to? When changing from two separate Eddie Kramer “Amber Kit” presets in Legacy of Rock, this is how I imagined I would need to set the “Load Parts” dialog in order to load just the channel strip and effect settings for a single channel in the mixer. I don’t want to change the drum, I don’t want to change the mixer. I just want to basically copy the channel strip for a tom channel from one preset to another. When I execute this action, nothing apparently happens. The channel strip in question stays exactly the same. What am I missing?
Hi there,
Which Amber preset are you starting with? Which preset and channel are you trying to load into the first preset.
Which version of SD3 are you running?
FWIW I see that all the those presets have Tape Bus in most tracks and Back Bus in Kick and Snare. (although I haven’t checked the parameter settings)

I don’t recall the exact presets. I do know that I chose a channel that had an fx chain on one preset and not on the other to see if it would work. I assumed that loading the channel strip from the processed channel to the unprocessed would remove all of the effect inserts, but it did not. I’m on Mac OS Monterey and Superior and all libraries are up to date.
Thanks.

Cool, I’m running SD3.8, recent update so make sure you have applied that.
This is what I did to test;
Opened Amber Dry (sounds like a beer doesn’t it) and selected 2 channels
Selected the preset Heavy Comp 2 and load parts
And see that only the limiter has been applied to those channels, if I load the whole Comp 2 preset it has limiters on RT, FT1 and FT2.
