When I open up superior drummer, it opens up to the point where I can’t click the x button because the window is out in la la land north of my display. How do I get it to stop opening up to where I can’t even click out of it?
The screen is opening up to large to the point where I cannot resize it, click any of the option buttons or use the program.

Are you on windows? If you are then hover over the icon on the task bar. This will bring up a mini window. Right click on this and it will give you the option to size and move if off screen. If your on a Mac then I don’t know.

I will probably not work, since superior drummer 3 won’t get it’s own small icon in the task bar when it’s used in a DAW, but it might work to resize the entire DAW by using your suggested method.
On Mac, you can hover the right edge, of the program you want to move, so that you see a horizontal resize cursor <->. Click and drag straight down and it will drag the window down.

After two frustrating hours that I do not wish upon anyone – I fixed it. The only way I found to move it was to right click the task bar,go to taskbar settings, un-click automatically hide task bar and re-click it. This brings the window to a correct size so you can minimize it or close it and continue to work on your project.
If you resize the DAW, Superior drummer stays the same size.
The icon was covered up by the oversized application and did not allow you to hover it and click it.
Hello, I am having this exact same frustrating problem!!! It has been hours now and I have had no luck! If by task bar, you mean the bar at the top that would usually say “File,” then “Edit,” then “Settings” and so on, I cannot hover over it to right click it because it is 4 inches about my screen. All I can do is click the little thing in the bottom right corner that allows me to reshape the plugin from that point alone, but that does me no good. Please help! I just want to make some music already! It was a long enough wait just for the entire program to download and now I still can’t use it! I’m assuming I have the latest version of this as I just bought SD 3 about 3 days ago.
I figured out what the task bar is and I was able to fix that problem the same way as the gentleman above me has mentioned. Now a new problem, SD 3 as a plug in for my DAW is finally low enough for me to choose file and settings and so on, but it has been stretched so long I can’t get to the bottom of it! Why is this happening? How can I just get the entire thing to fit within my 15.6” screen like it does in stand alone?? I will post another pic to show what I mean. Please help…
Hi,
what happens if you play around with the scale and size in the View Menu in the SD3 plugin?

When I clicked on the smaller “scale” options (70%, 80% and so on) it would make all of the content, boxes, and text smaller, but the length of the program itself remained as you see it in the picture, so therefore didn’t actually solve anything. And when I tried the smaller “size” options it really acted strange, the entire program in fact grew/blew up instead of shrank like we were hoping.
So even though the guy who started this set of questions figured out a way that works for me as well to fix this, is there no way to fix it I definitely? Every day I have to mess with this program to get the SD3 window to fit in my screen. And it’s not just once a day, this happened every time I open my daw and try to use SD3, then once I resize it I can use it for a minute but as soon as I click over the mixer, it messes it all up again. So I have to exit out of everything and resize it again! It’s beyond frustrating and I’m at the point where I don’t even like using the program because it’s just too much trouble! Please, I am open to all suggestions!
Hello,
same problem here, despite the fact that I use the latest version of the SD3 plugin (3.1.7. build 23976)! Frustrating hours of trying to solve this problem and searching the internet up and down until I found this thread here by accident… life is really too short for shit like that!
The workaround from above is working somehow (thanks to user shavnore!), but this can’t be the final solution!
Toontrack has to fix this behavior on startup of the SD3 plugin in an update asap!!! This has never been a problem in Superior Drummer 2 so it can’t be too difficult to solve. Bugs like these should be taken care of in betatesting and leaving the customer alone with trouble like this is definitely not ok at all! Especially when this bug showed up for the first time in January 2019 when this thread was started!
I totally agree! And thank you for saying something! I think we need to get as many people to speak up and demand they change this as soon as possible!! As I stated in my previous responses I’ve had this exact issue ever since I bought SD3 about 6 or 7 months ago! Thanks to Shavnore we now have a temporary solution but to this day I have still yet to get it completely fixed and it’s BS! So ya, they need to get on it and fix this ASAP!
Hi,
do you have the same issue with 3.2.0?

Hey Toontracks,
Is there any fix in the pipeline to fix the sizing issue with this program? I’m running v3.2.4 and not having access to the top of the plug-in is pretty aggravating. I’ve tried some of the mentioned fixes above and still no luck. It really takes away from being creative when things are not working as they should. Other than this issue the program is great. I love the sounds and being able to use the sounds on my 2001 Yamaha E-kit is a plus.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Michael
