Hi.
Just got the email re new features in latest ezkeys upgrade. I’m at work so not got my machine in front of me to check. Will the humanise function work to humanise drums tracks or is it optimised for keys?
I have a few drums parts which in hindsight I think I have over done the quantise on and also midi levels prob a bit too high so sounds like the drummer is playing hugely loud with a lack of dynamics. Would humanise function allow me to import these midi files and then add add back a bit of realism to the playing?
Rob
this is not what it is designed for, but you could always try to import those MIDI, keeping in mind the analysing of the notes will be meaningless. And it won’t touch the velocity side of things in any case. Realistically you would be better off using the dedicated features in your DAW though.

Cheers rogue.
I’ve been using logical editor in cubase to sort out the velocity issue (I think my ekit needs to be better calibrated as hits are weighted toward the higher end of the velocity range). Was mainly thinking for the timing where I have over quantised.
I’ll give it a try perhaps. Could be a useful tool for a superior drummer update to add to the humanise functions, slight random timing offsets but like you said maybe better to use daw features.
Rob
My experience is that the humanize function does affect the velocity. Very noticeably.
Just checked the difference and verified that it does change velocity, which I think is a good thing. Maybe it only changes it after it first detects that velocity is quanitized? I didn’t check that.
