My question is: How do you match sonically added instruments from the same library preset drum set? On a particular drum set I choose the main snare drum and added it again as an added instrument. But even after choosing Existing in the route close mics to mixer channels, both snares don’t sound exactly the same. I’ve tried looking thru the mixer but nothing makes sense to me. I just can not get the same added snare to sound like the main snare. Any tips or info that can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Hi,
which preset and snare are we talking about?
Could it be that the main snare has got a stacked sound?

This is the Djentle Beast preset from Modern Metal EZX. No matter which instrument I add from the preset (add instrument) to the drum set, they do not sound the sound. For example, for my main kick I switched it to the 16×22 Tama Starclassic Performer and had added it again as an Add Instrument as an experiment to hear if there would be a differences between them. And there is when I click between the both. It’s very Noticeable that the both kick drums don’t sound the same. And I’m just in the Djentle Beast preset from Modern Metal, I’m not pulling instruments from any other library. Also, no instruments appear to be stacked. This is going to make it impossible to add more toms to my kit cause they won’t match the preset sonically. There’s probably a simple solution but I’m just too new to the program. Hope my explanation was clear and understandable. Thanks for the reply.

is on routed through an ambience or similar group and the other not? What about bleeds enabled? If you turn down the overhead and ambience sliders dies it sound the same?
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Yes, if I mute the ambience bus, the main instrument and add instrument will sound the same. But I would be sacrificing ambience. I would hate to kill the ambience just to get the instruments to sound the same because this kit really befits greatly from the ambience. What would be the next step for me? As I mentioned before, I’m new to the program.
Just figured out the bleed from instruments fader section and that fix my issues. Thanks again for the help.
