More information needed. Does ‘can’t use the genre filter’ mean it doesn’t work or you don’t know how to use it? Which filter are you talking about?

There isn’t a way to switch off the filter in Bandmate.

Packs are already rock, blues, reggae and so on. Which packs do you have?

The genre filter and play style filters work fine with all the Toonetrack midi drum packs.

The problem is only when I am using a 3rd part midi drum pack. They are not categorised by EZdrummer3 in genre or play styles. The other filters seem to work well ie the type, signature and power hand filters.

Since I want to use my 3rd party drum midi packs as well (not only the Toonetrack midi packs) when trying to match a drum beat with BandMate this is a BIG problem since no items from the 3rd party midi packs are shown in the “Matching list” this is since the matchng list filters on “Genre” and the 3rd party midi packs are not picked up by genre.

So my quistion is, is there a way to manually assign a “genre” to the 3rd party midi drum patterns?

My bad; I missed the ‘3rd party bit’.

Have you set the file path to your 3rd party? I think EZD can only filter tags written into the MIDI files.

Bandmate will look only in Toontrack grooves for a match or make its own.

Yes I have linked the 3rd party midi packs to EZD. It works fine I can use them all and I can browse through them all.

What I am trying to do is also to be able to use them with BandMate when trying to find a match to songs that I have dropped into BandMate.

The problem is that the suggested matches from BandMate seems only to be selected from “Genre” ie my 3rd party midi will not be included since the “Genre” attribute is not set for it. So I am wondering if there is a way to include the 3rd party midi in the BandMate matching feature.

Read my last answer. It must have crossed with yours.

It will take more than setting the genre in order for Bandmate to recognize the groove. As Mick stated, Bandmate will not offer up user grooves. You are best to put in a feature request.
