edit: disregard I just realized I had to export the project file not just the preset file
I figured I’d be able to find an article on this more easily, but I haven’t found one.
The question is pretty simple. I want to send my user preset, which contains all my mixer stuff the kit, and everything that is possible to save, to someone else, and have him be able to open it up exactly.
so I did a save user preset, and then I went into that folder, and I sent him that file, but he says he was having issues opening it. Should that have worked? Or is there something else I need to export and send?
his reply
I know it’s a holiday for you today but I’m just getting ahead of tomorrow…
Took like ten hours late last week, but I finally got all the SD3 modules downloaded and installed just before heading to NYC for a couple days.
“… got the stems and midi imported, but I’m not able to open up your kit preset. The mapping lines up without issues so I got moving on it a bunch today, but if you can either re-save your SD3 “project” and send it my way that may work? Or take a look at the preset you used and let me know?
Yea there’s a chance it’s my end too, but the file was a Unix Exec file which I believe is for Terminal “
any ideas
Sending a user preset is as simple as sending the file. The questions lie more on the the other end:
Are you both using the latest version of SD3?
What OS are they using?
If your preset uses an SDX? Do they have that SDX?
That’s all I can think of at the moment.
