Good afternoon!
I have used MIDI from multiple libraries in past projects. When I go back to these projects, the MIDI segments are not labeled. Is there a way to identify which libraries and variations unmanipulated MIDI segments came from? If not, what is the best practice to keep track of this information during future editing?
Are you using EZdrummer 1 or 2?
If 2; Do you have the MIDI on the song track of EZdrummer 2, or in a DAW?

EZD2. I pulled the MIDI into the DAW, so I can only see the name “Chorus 05 – Variation_05.mid”. I have edited the MIDI since and no longer have the song structure bulit in EZDrummer itself.
While the name “Chorus 05 – Variation_05.mid” does help narrow it down, it’s still a challenge to navigate through a huge midi library trying to identify. Is there a way to incorporate the EZX or MIDI expansion subcategories into the actual file name? Then I could know at a glance, oh yes, that was Thrash Metal > Mid Straight 4/4 > Harvest 120 BPM > Verse > Variation 03.
Hi,
you can always try to record the MIDI back into EZD2 by hitting rec on the EZd2 Song Track and then play back the MIDI from your DAW.
Then you can use the Search with Tap 2 Find feature. This will of course work best if you cut up the parts recorded from your DAW in 4 or 8 bars.
A tip is to leave MIDI used on the Song Track. It can be muted and/or moved away to after the actual Song end but it will make it easier to find what parts you used at a later time.

John
