Morning all.
So I have been using EZ Drummer for a long time and have always struggled with this.
Often times I’m in the middle of working on a song and trying different things to see what works. I will have some existing midi that I dragged over into my DAW (I use Ableton).
Maybe after some weeks, I come back to work on something and I want to find and tweak the drum tracks. I would love the ability to drag the clip from my DAW into EZ Drummer 3 and have it find the exact source where that came from. In my case, I have a large library of grooves, but I have no idea where the source of a particular groove was.
Now, I know there is a find similar function, but I would LOVE to see a find exact function. So that when I look to find alternative grooves to replace my existing midi, Im at least in the same library tree.
I know I can’t be the only one experiencing this headache, I hope that the product team can see this feature request and find a solution.

Cheers
Drag it to Tap2Find and check the 100% search results… though I don’t believe you can drag midi from your DAW straight to EZ which I don’t think TT can fix that for you.
Also consider not removing the midi from EZ and use it’s Song Track instead. Then you could use the Find feature which will work in a perfect manner as you’re hoping.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanI don’t if your DAW is the same, but Studio One keeps the file path in each midi file.
