It only works when you run EZdrummer as a plug-in in a host.

I can’t see how an audio track on the VS2480 can record midi data, how could it do that ? its midi data not audio. Unles you mean Midi sync data
I used to love my dual 1680 setup and got a 2480, until we lost power at a rehearsal then it froze and it took 1 day to reboot its software to normal.
Drove home got the 1680’s and boom we were recoding again,Sold the 2480 straight away NG for a Roland about 10 years ago …..
Any how Plz go with a real audio/midi Host like Logic or Protools free you will never go through any of this time wastage again plus you will be able to edit all
your midi and audio together .Sell that old gear.Laugh

Love the 2480 so that’s not an option
As I stated in the post, the midi out goes to the PPS2 where it is coded into a synch tone i.e converted audio signal

Olaf – thanks for your reply. I do have Acid Pro 4.0 at the moment. How do I set up EZDrummer 2 in it as a host?

    Thanks for the help

Ezdrummer 2 only supports Acid 7.0 and higher.

That way I can record the MIDI info on a track on the VS-2480, and then play back that track,

You firstly did not mention the word Synch tone – but midi info to audio,
So Sync tone ” in fact MTC (midi time code or clock ) yes
    you are right.
I was a midi kid so i did all that 25 years ago,
Truly was thinking in your best interests Bro.

No worries – was just trying to let you know that I knew better than to try and record actual MIDI data.
Thought I made that clear, when I said the MIDI data went to the JL Cooper PPS2 and then the converted audio from that was recorded.
The converted audio is the synch tone.
Either way, I thoroughly enjoy working with the 2480 and am just experimenting with different ways to use EZD with it.
Sorry if you thought it was, but I don’t look at any of this as a waste of time
    Cheers

Thanks Scott! That completes the equation.
If I want to be able to enable the MIDI Out on EZD2 I need a more up to date host.
    Thanks again all!
